<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a storage system and its power source control method and an adapter device and its power source control method and a storage controller and its control method for improving reliability in simple configurations. <P>SOLUTION: In a storage system and its power source control method, a storage controller transmits a predetermined activation completion signal to an adapter device after its activation, and the adapter device is activated after receiving the activation completion signal from the storage controller.
