PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a functional material by readily, efficiently and orderly introducing a functional low-molecular material to the inside of a crystal phase of a crystalline polymer in a glassy state as a starting material. SOLUTION: The method for producing the functional material to introduce the functional low-molecular material to the inside of a crystal phase by inducing crystallization of a crystalline polymer in the glassy state, in which the method comprises bringing a plasticizer-containing solution having a functional low molecule or vapor into contact with the polymer, introducing the functional low molecule into the polymer, and removing the plasticizer.
