PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote conference system provided with a relay server, which is capable of preventing leakage of the conference contents in the relay server. SOLUTION: In a remote conference system, public keys corresponding to closed keys generated in respective user terminals 120 and 130 are preliminarily registered in a member information file 115 of a relay server 110 as member information. A conference holding means 122 of the sponsor-side user terminal 120 generates an encryption key for conference, acquires the public key of the participant-side user terminal 130 from the relay server 110, and encrypts the encryption key for conference by the public key and transmits the encrypted public key to the participant-side user terminal 130 via the relay server 110. A conference data transmission/reception means 123 of the sponsor-side user terminal 120 and a conference data transmission/reception means 133 of the participant-side user terminal 130 transmit and receive conference data encrypted by the encryption key for conference, via a conference data relay means 114 of the relay server 110.
