PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for detecting injection process of a fuel injector of an internal combustion engine including an injection needle moving between an open position and a close position by evaluating vibration curve recorded by a vibration sensor. SOLUTION: Signal corresponding to vibration curve over a period including injection process is recorded. Time differentiation of the recorded signal is produced. A second maximum value in time domain of the signal differentiated by time is detected and the second maximum value which has meaning corresponding to stop of the injection needle at a time of close valve motion is evaluated. In some cases, a first maximum value in time domain of the signal differentiated by time is detected and the first maximum value which has meaning corresponding to stop of the injection needle at a time of open valve motion is evaluated.
