PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scroll type fluid machine structured of a simple rigid scroll unit and capable of surely reducing a thrust load. SOLUTION: A pressure control means 88 is provided to control the pressure of a refrigerant led from a circulation route 7 into a machine chamber 26 formed inside a drive casing 22 and to be applied to a back surface side of a movable scroll 54 in order to balance to the discharge pressure of the refrigerant acting to a front surface side of the movable scroll 54 of the scroll unit 52.
