PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scroll compressor, storing enough lubricating oil in an oil chamber in simple constitution to secure favorable lubricating state, and an air conditioner for a vehicle including the compressor. SOLUTION: This scroll compressor 3 includes an oil separating means for partly separating lubricating oil from the compressed working fluid. The oil separating means includes: an oil separating chamber 64 provided in a passage for the working fluid extending from a scroll unit 28 to a discharge port of a housing 8; an oil separating pipe 68 disposed in the oil separating chamber 64 to revolve the working fluid around it to centrifuge the lubricating oil from the working fluid; and a communicating hole 81 having an opening end opened at the bottom of the oil separating chamber 64 and allowing the lubricating oil separated from the oil separating chamber 64 to flow out into the oil chamber 60. The ratio (s/S) of the sectional area s of the communicating hole 81 to the bottom area S of the oil separating chamber 64 ranges from 1/9 to 1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
