PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a locking stand-by type lock device capable of temporary locking securely at low cost. SOLUTION: This locking stand-by type lock device is provided with a coin holding part 14 for holding a charged coin C, coin return operation parts 5, 5' for releasing coin holding in the coin holding part, a temporarily locking body 6 capable of being locked and unlocked in a coin charged condition, and an actually locking body 6 for regulating locking and unlocking operation in a locked condition of the temporarily locking body and allowing locking and unlocking operation in an unlocked condition of the temporarily locking body 6 to release coin holding of the coin holding part 14 by operating the coin return operation part when locking the temporarily locking body and return a coin into a coin return port 3. This locking stand-by type lock device is adopted. The coin return operation part 5' may be operated by locking operation of the temporarily locking body 8. This lock device is provided with a door detection part 49 for regulating operation of the temporarily locking body 8 when a door is opened and allowing operation of the temporarily locking body when the door is closed to prevent operation of the coin return operation part when the temporarily locking body is not yet operated.
