The method involves transferring aerosol sample to measuring instrument (14) to produce the aerosol measurement current with reduced aerosol concentration by pressure reduction. Pressure reduction is accomplished by volume expansion of a sample stream. Sample stream is injected into an expansion nozzle (20). Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a probe device for forming samples of aerosol and forwarding to measuring instrument; and (B) an analysis device for analysis of aerosol.
