PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a video recorder capable of recording video regarding a desired broadcast without recording unnecessary video after a broadcast ends. SOLUTION: When recording video recording data based upon a broadcast signal regarding a prescribed broadcast received by a reception section 10 in a recording section 20, the video recorder 100 stops recording the video recording data in the recording section 20 if detecting an end signal indicating that the prescribed broadcast ends continuously for a time corresponding to a prescribed time lapse based upon the broadcast signal, and erases unnecessary video recording data recorded in the recording section 20 during the prescribed time lapse from the recording section 20.
