PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning unit that is brought into contact with a face to be cleaned of an imaging element and an optical filter or the like of a lens exchangeable imaging apparatus under a proper pressure and can easily remove dust or the like adhered to the face in one operation and to provide an imaging system. SOLUTION: The cleaning unit comprises: a first member 10 fittable to a lens exchange mount part 2; and a second member 20 for cleaning a surface (the face to be cleaned) 4a of the optical filter 4 located at an object side of the imaging element 5. The first member 10 is fitted to the mount part 2, the second member 20 is inserted to a hole 11 of the first member 10, and a cleaning member 24 provided to the tip cleans the face 4a to be cleaned. The cleaning member 24 is incorporated to a main body member 21, receives a press contact force by a coil spring, a step difference part 21c of the main body member 21 is restricted at an edge part 11a of the hole 11 to keep the press contact force of the cleaning member 24 to the face 4a to be cleaned nearly constant.
