PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an insertion force peak from being generated in connecting terminal fittings to each other. SOLUTION: This connector 3 is provided with: a first housing 1 with female terminals 10 housed therein; a second housing 2 with male terminals 20 housed therein; and holders 22a. Each female terminal 10 is provided with: a tube part 11 for housing an insert 27 of the male terminal 20; a spring piece 12 for energizing the insert 27 toward the inside surface of the tube part 11; and a tilting part 14 tilting so as to approach the spring piece 12 as it separates from the insert 27 side. Each holder 22a movably supports the male terminal 20 along a direction in which the spring piece 12 and the tilting part 14 face to each other and energizes the male terminal 20 toward the tilting part 14. The connector 3 is so structured that the insert 27 is inserted into the tube part 11 without sliding a tip 26 of the insert 27 on the spring piece 12 by bringing it into contact with the tilting part 14.
