MODULE FOR OPTICAL COMMUNICATION, METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME, AND DATA COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a module for optical communication capable of individually monitoring the optical output of multichannel.

SOLUTION: The module comprises a fiber array 4 formed of a plurality of optical fibers 4a-4e divided into transmitting groups 4a-4d and receiving groups 4h-4e, a laser diode array 6 comprising a plurality of laser diodes 6a-6d grouped into transmitting groups 6a-6d, and a plurality of photodiodes 10a-10h divided into monitor groups 10a-10d and receiving groups 10e-10h. By allowing the laser diodes 6a-6d of the transmitting groups and the end faces of the optical fibers 4a-4d of the transmitting groups to be opposed to each other, the laser diode array 6 is provided between the same and the fiber array 4.
