PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method and apparatus for motion estimation in a digital imaging device that meet a need in the art. SOLUTION: A digital imaging device having a CCD sensor array with one or more fields captures both short and long exposures of a particular field during the capture of a single image frame.
