摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of measuring bearing preload amount of a bearing device for a wheel, capable of simplifying a device for measuring running torque by rotating and driving a bearing and of accurately and stably measuring and controlling preload amount of the bearing. SOLUTION: In the method of measuring bearing preload amount of the bearing device for the wheel in which an inner member 1 comprising a hub wheel 2 and an inner ring 3 is integrally and plastically coupled, a rotor part 15 is fixed to a vehicle body mounting flange 10b of an outer member 10 via a rotor 13, and a stator part 16 is fixed to a wheel mounting flange 4 of the hub wheel 2 via a stator housing 11. The outer member 10 is rotated by carrying current to a motor M comprising the stator part 16 and the rotor part 15, and a current value applied to the motor M is measured. By using a precalculated current value and bearing torque characteristic diagram, bearing torque in the bearing device for the wheel is converted from the current value, and based on the bearing torque, bearing preload amount is calculated.
