PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a backflow of gas from a back-pressure chamber to an inside of cylinder, and a degrading of compression efficiency in a second rotation compressing element, and to reduce the processing of a lower support member simultaneously in a rotary compressor of so-called internal medium-pressure type multi-stage compressing system. SOLUTION: The rotary compressor prepares: an upper cylinder 38 for constituting the second rotation compressing element and a roller 46, fitted in an eccentric portion formed in a rotating shaft of electric element, rotating eccentrically inside the upper cylinder 38, and a vane 50, contacting with the roller 46, partitioning an inside of the upper cylinder 38 into a low and high-pressure chamber sides; a back-pressure chamber 74 for applying back-pressure to the vane 50; a back-pressure passage 72 communicating with the high-pressure chamber side inside the upper cylinder 38 and the back-pressure chamber 74; and a check valve 88, provided in the back-pressure passage 72, which allows a circulation of gas from the high-pressure chamber side inside the upper cylinder 38 to the back-pressure chamber 74, and prevents a circulation of gas from the back pressure chamber 74 to the high-pressure chamber side inside the upper cylinder 38.
