PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-resistant granular explosive composition capable of being manufactured in the same manufacturing equipment and manufacturing process as that of a conventional ammonium nitrate and fuel oil explosive and having remarkably improved water resistance while having the same ignition performance as that of the conventional one. SOLUTION: The water-resistant granular explosive composition contains porous prill ammonium nitrate, oil and a material capable of gelating the oil. The gelating material is metallic soap represented by aluminum 2-ethyl hexanoate and further contains a gelating accelerator such as ethyl alcohol or oleic acid. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
