The device has a coating module with an impression cylinder and a pressing roll that form a transfer gap (6). A transfer foil (5) with a coated side is applied on a printing sheet and is guided with the sheet through the gap so that image producing layers adhere on the sheet and is taken from the film. A film guiding device (20) is provided in the module for guiding a web of the film to the gap. An independent claim is also included for a method for feeding a film web to a coating station.
