A compact drive system for a roller blind, or other similar system such a maps, promotional posters etc., has a profiled end housing (1) with a central sub (3) to support the end of the roller and surrounded by a ring shaped recess (2) to hold the drive wheel for the roller. Two shaped ducts (B1, B2) are separated by a triangular guide (6) to feed the endless drive through the lateral ducts. The drive can be via a chain, beaded cord etc. The shaped guides position the drive cord away from the compact roller in a non tangle alignment.
