<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion-exchange material that can prevent an ion-exchangeable filler fixed to the fiber surface from dropping off and can control the decrease in a specific surface area of the ion-exchangeable filler. <P>SOLUTION: This ion-exchange material includes fiber, a binder resin on the surface thereof, and the ion-exchangeable filler fixed to the binder resin. The binder resin is a wet heat gelled resin, and the ion-exchangeable filler is fixed with a substance of the wet heat gelled resin. For instance, a composite fiber (5) comprises polypropylene for a thermoplastic synthetic fiber component employed as a core component (2), and an ethylene-vinylalchol copolymer resin for a wet heat gelled fiber component employed as a sheath component (1), and the ion-exchangeable filler (3) is effectively fixed to the sheath component (1) of the composite fiber (5). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
