<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce disturbance of an electric field of a liquid crystal layer in an active matrix type liquid crystal electrooptical apparatus of a lateral field driving system driving a liquid crystal by an electric field in a lateral direction parallel to a substrate. <P>SOLUTION: In the active matrix type liquid crystal electrooptical apparatus having a thin film transistor having a gate electrode, a gate insulating film, an amorphous silicon film and a drain electrode on a first substrate, a common electrode provided on the first substrate, a second substrate opposed to the first substrate and the liquid crystal layer interposed between the first and the second substrates and driven by the electric field between the drain electrode and the common electrode, a black matrix made of resin is provided on the first substrate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
