<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protector in which the focus adjustment time by automatic adjustment control can be shortened. <P>SOLUTION: The protector 1 is equipped with an operation unit 2, and a focus adjustment controller 74 which implements automatic focus control to change the relative positions of a plurality of lenses by driving a lens driving section 432 until a projected image attains an in-focus state based on the automatic adjustment information set and inputted in the operation unit 2.
