<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a line head with which the formation of resist marks is performed with a simple configuration, and also to provide an image forming apparatus using the line head. <P>SOLUTION: A glass substrate 62 is provided with a dot light source 63 for image formation and a light source 73 for resist mark formation. The dot light source 63 and the light source 73 are covered by a glass cover 64. There are provided: an optical system 65 for image formation, for which, for example, a distributed refractive index type rod lens array (SLA) is used: and an optical system 81 for resist mark formation, for which, for example, a cylindrical lens is used.
