PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal which detects the open/close state of the mobile terminal so as to reduce power consumption caused by interruption to a CPU when a form of the mobile terminal is changed between the open state and the close state. SOLUTION: A mobile phone 1 includes a MR sensor (118) which detects magnetism when the mobile phone 1 is in the open state, a MR sensor 2 (119) which detects magnetism when the mobile phone 1 is in the close state, and a CPU interruption control part 102 which stores an open/close state flag into an open/close information storage part 103 in accordance with detection signals from both MR sensors and sets and releases interrupt masks for respective detection signals to control the sending of an interrupt signal to a CPU 101.
