PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which a difference in temperature does not occur in a part of a fixing belt to which a recording material is brought into contact even when the recording material is continuously transported and as a result, no unevenness in glossiness occurs in the recording material. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with a fixing device in which an endless fixing belt is laid across hung least two rollers in a tensioned fashion, a pressurizing roller is provided for pressurizing a fixing roller which is one of the above rollers through the fixing belt and a toner image on the recording material is fixed in a nip part formed between the fixing belt heated by a predetermined heating means and the pressurizing roller, wherein a conditional expression: (D1+D2)C=L (where, C: a predetermined integer) is satisfied, when the length of the recording material in the transporting direction is D1, a gap between two sheets of recording materials in the transporting direction is D2 and the outer periphery length of the fixing belt is L.
