PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display capable of generating electric power utilizing light from a light source without reducing the light quantity supplied to a liquid crystal panel. SOLUTION: A charge panel 24 is disposed between a reflection sheet 23 disposed on the rear side of a cold cathode discharge tube 22 and a rear frame 20 made of metal and the light beam transmitted through the reflection sheet 23 among light beams emitted from the cold cathode discharge tube 22 is received by the charge panel 24 to generate electric power and to charge a battery 33 with the electric power.
