PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat treatment apparatus for heating, cooling or drying a steel strip by blowing gas jet stream to the steel strip. SOLUTION: In the heat treatment apparatus for heating, cooling or drying a steel strip by blowing gas jet stream to the steel strip, a roll insertion space with holding rolls alternately arranged thereon is provided with a predetermined spacing along the steel strip advancing direction between gas blowing spaces with a nozzle to discharge gas jet stream arranged therein, and fluttering of the steel strip is prevented thereby. A nozzle to discharge gas jet stream is arranged in a roll insertion side to the steel strip and the roll insertion space on the opposite side to extend the gas blowing space. To cool the steel strip, the holding rolls are cooled. To heat or to dry the steel strip, the holding rolls are heated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
