PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a titanium alloy wire rod made of Ti-3Al-2.5V having increased cold workability while securing a tensile strength of >620 MPa exceeding that of the industrial pure titanium JIS 3 series by holding theβtransformation point of Ti-3Al-2.5V. SOLUTION: The cold workability of a wire rod can be improved, while holding itsβtransformation point and base strength by controlling concentration of Al and V being base additional elements to 2.5 to 3.5 mass% and 2.0 to 3.0 mass% being the respective specification ranges, by controlling the content of O to 0.05 to 0.09% and the total concentration of N and C to 0.02 to 0.03%, and also controlling its tensile strength to >620 to <700 MPa. Further, by reducing the content of O to <0.05% and the total concentration of N and C to <0.02%, and additionally reducing the content of Fe to <0.01%, its cold workability can be more improved.
