PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new compound useful as an antibacterial agent against bacteria of the genus Propionibacterium. SOLUTION: The new cyclic compound is isolated from Streptomyces sp. Q47152 strain and has an excellent antibacterial activity against bacteria of the genus Propionibacterium. A drug composition containing the compound as an active ingredient is useful as an antibacterial agent, particularly a treating agent for acne vulgaris and the like.
