PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently recovering acrylic acid from an aqueous solution of the acrylic acid discharged from a production process of a high-boiling acrylic ester. SOLUTION: The method for recovering the acrylic acid is composed of the following steps. a step (1) of adjusting the pH of an aqueous liquid prepared by dissolving the unreacted acrylic acid or its salt produced from the production process of the high-boiling acrylic ester using the acrylic acid and a high-boiling alcohol to≤2, a step (2) of bringing acidic water obtained in the step (1) into contact with an organic solvent and extracting the acrylic acid into the organic solvent, a step (3) of distilling an organic phase obtained in the step (2), distilling off the acrylic acid and thereby affording the acrylic acid from which high-boiling impurities are removed and a step (4) of reusing the acrylic acid obtained in the step (3) in the production of the ester.
