<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the service life of a filter for collecting volatile organic compounds produced from resin components or the like used in an image forming apparatus by efficiently using the filter. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 has a ventilating axial fan 54 for discharging air from its inside to its outside, and the filter 58 through which air current generated by the ventilating axial fan 54 passes. The filter 58 scavenges the volatile organic compound in the air. The apparatus has a storage device 151 for storing information on the number of recorded sheets of recording material.
