<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength multiplex optical signal transfer device capable of transmitting a wavelength multiplex optical signal to an arbitrary destination by fast switching under simple control with simple constitution without using a low-speed optical matrix switch nor an expensive variable wavelength light source. <P>SOLUTION: The wavelength multiplex optical signal transfer device comprises a plurality of optical gates 14-1 etc., which each input a wavelength multiplex light and output it after adjusting its transmission quantity, a 1st array waveguide diffraction grating AWG15 which inputs wavelength multiplex lights whose transmission quantities have been adjusted to designated input ports respectively, demultiplex the multiplex lights by wavelengths, and output lights of designated wavelengths to designated output ports corresponding to the input ports and wavelengths, an optical modulator 16-1 which outputs optical signals generated by imposing intensity modulation corresponding to transmitted information on lights of the respective wavelengths that the 1st AWG15 outputs to the plurality of output ports, etc., and a 2nd AWG17 which inputs optical signals of respective wavelengths to independent input ports, multiplexes them, and outputs multiplexed lights to designated output ports corresponding to the input ports and wavelengths. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
