PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device and its driving method with which display defect caused by a pMOS device is eliminated. SOLUTION: In the driving device of this invention, a data driving section outputs image signals and a scan driving section outputs control signals corresponding to the image signals. An inverter inverts the control signals and outputs them. A display panel has a pMOS which responds to the inverted control signals and transmits the image signals to pixel electrodes. An interrupting section interrupts supply of an abnormal signal to the pMOS. Thus, the display defect, which is generated by supplying an abnormal signal to the display panel, is eliminated in the display device that has the display panel made of the pMOS by individually controlling a driving IC and power to the inverter so as not to generate an abnormal voltage or by interrupting the transmission of the abnormal voltage generated at the inverter.
