<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forming method of a high density recording medium by which costs are reduced and signal characteristics (C/N) can be improved, to provide a pattern forming method and to provide its recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: A forming method of a master disk comprises steps for: forming a dielectric layer on a glass plate; forming a first phase transition layer on the dielectric layer; forming an electric alloy layer composed of a metal compound on the first phase transition layer; and forming a second phase transition layer on the electric alloy layer and is characterized in that portions of the first phase transition layer, the electric alloy layer and the second phase transition layer, whose temperature is increased up to a prescribed temperature or above by irradiation with a laser, lead to volume change. Thereby, a disk is manufactured utilizing a conventional optical system, namely a device and a drive of an LBR having a wavelength equal to or shorter than a blue wavelength. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
