<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document image reader/recorder in which a control program can be updated easily. <P>SOLUTION: The document image reader/recorder comprises a means for deciding whether a route holder 41, having a holder name identical to a specified holder name exists on a memory card (external storage medium) 17, a means for deciding whether a subholder 42, having a holder name identical to that of version information in a control program 16 exists in the route holder 41 if it is decided as existing, a means for indicating a list of version information in a plurality of control programs 46A, 46B, 46C to be updated in the subholder 42, if decided as existing, a means for selecting one of listed version information, and a means for rewriting a stored control program 16 into a control program 46C for update, corresponding to the selected version information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
