<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for driving a light emitting display panel, wherein shadowing caused depending on a lighting rate of light emitting elements and dimmer set conditions can be decreased to a level giving no problem for practical use. <P>SOLUTION: An analog image signal is supplied to a drive controlling circuit 11 and an A/D conversion circuit 12, converted to an image data corresponding to each pixel in the A/D conversion circuit 12, and written in an image memory 13. The image data are read out by each one scanning from the image memory 13, while the drive control circuit 11 acquires the proportion of EL elements to be subjected to light emission control (a lighting rate of light emitting elements per one scan). A precharge control data are read out from a lookup table 14 based on the lighting rate and dimmer set data, and a precharge voltage VAM based on the precharge control data is supplied to a data driver 2. Thereby, a precharge amount in a parasitic capacitance of the light emitting element is made variable, and as a result, occurrence of shadowing is suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
