<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling apparatus and a cooling method of a thick steel plate by which supercooling in both end parts in the thickness direction is prevented and the thick steel plate is uniformly cooled without generating irregular cooling when cooling a high-temperature thick steel plate which is hot-rolled. <P>SOLUTION: Because cooling water to the both end parts in the width direction of a thick steel plate 1 of the cooling water jetted from an upper slit nozzle 4 is collided with a masking plate 6 and its jet angle is turned upward without disturbing the water stream, the water landing position is moved to the downstream side of the water landing position of the cooling water to the middle part in the width direction of the thick steel plate 1. In this way, the quantity of cooling in the both end parts in the width direction of the thick steel plate can correspond to the quantity of cooling in the middle part in the width direction of the thick steel plate and, as a result, the thick steel plate having a uniform temperature distribution in the width direction is manufactured. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
