PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a burner for manufacturing a glass preform which has a life prolonged by preventing the damage of a nozzle. SOLUTION: In the burner 20 for manufacturing the glass preform which is structured by arranging nozzles 23 for a supporting gas concentrically in a nozzle 22 for a fuel gas at least to have a double structure, at least the outside nozzle 23 for the supporting gas to the inside nozzle 23 in the double structure is arranged to properly shift from the extension line Lhrof the center line connecting the inside nozzle 23 for the supporting gas to the center of the burner.
