PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermally expansive inorganic material which contributes to suppressing the expansion of damages such as the spread of fire or the diffusion of smoke to the minimum even when the fire breaks out and has shape holding property even when being exposed to a high temperature for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The thermally expansive inorganic material has a composition comprising 55-85 wt.% inorganic fiber, 5-30 wt.% thermally expansive inorganic material, 5-15 wt.% organic binder and 5-25 wt.% sintering inorganic material having 650-1,000°C melting point.
