PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet stacking device capable of scraping off the paper sheets retained in an accumulation storage or the paper sheets loaded on a pushing plate the accumulation storage. SOLUTION: The pushing plate 5 is supported on a main body of the paper sheet stacking device by a main shaft 7. The main shaft 7 is provided with a bearing 8, and the pushing plate 5 is turnably mounted on the bearing 8. When the pushing plate 5 is turned to the left side by the action of a spring 10 and a rotation stop 9, it is constituted so as to return to the horizontal position. When the paper sheets S of a cassette 6 are pushed with the pushing plate 5 constituted like this, the paper sheet badly stacked S may remain on the pushing plate 5. When the paper sheet S badly stacked is raised as loading on the pushing plate, the pushing plate 5 is turned to the left side by a plate return material 11, and the paper sheet S badly stacked is dropped by tilting the pushing plate 5.
