The extruded plastics door or window profiled frame member (1) in a building has many closed chambers (10) separated by thin walls (10a,12). This provides a high-strength cellular structure which may be of reduced thickness measured from the edge (2a) of the window pane (2) to the edge engaging the fixed frame. A recess (4) accommodates a layer of glue fastening the edge of the double-glazing or door leaf to a thick cross-member (4a). A closure strip (3) is snapped into place to hold the window pane in position.
