<p>The motor vehicle pneumatic tire has selective mechanical characteristics, through one or more actuators which alter the physical characteristics of the tire. The actuators are of film, with carbon and nano structure fiber tube particles as ''Bucky'' multi-wall carbon nano-tubes (MWCNT) embedded in a polymer, as shape memory films. The actuators are linked to a control, to change the shape and elasticity of the tire. The actuators are in strips, with strips (41) near the tread (42) to impose a stretch and the strips (43) near the beading to exert a bending action.</p> |
