PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To vary guidance in a navigation system by performing dialect explanation in the navigation device. SOLUTION: Necessary data among data on dialects recorded in an information recording medium 116 such as a DVD-ROM and the newest data from an external information center 125 are stored a dialect-related data storage part 143. Dialect explanation regions are set along a guidance route from a guidance route output part 133 at an explanation region setting part 145, appropriate explanation contents are set at an explanation content setting part 146, and an appropriate explanation method is set at an explanation method setting part 147. The time to start the dialect of the set explanation region is set at an explanation start determining part 148, and dialect explanation is started by sounds, voice, and images from an explanation output part 150 when predetermined conditions are satisfied. The dialect explanation is halted at an explanation halting part 149 when predetermined conditions are satisfied. |
