The label (7) has a liquid-sensitive adhesive coating on a rear face. The coating is based on natural biopolymers and its derivatives and/or synthetic polymers that can be activated by a liquid. The label is formed by a paper or a porous foil such as plastic foil. The coating is activated with water or water-alcohol mixture. The mixture is provided with a wetting agent or a thickening agent. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for automatically applying a label comprising a liquid-sensitive adhesive coating (2) a method for production of a label paper.
