A method of identifying linear features within an image users a multi-scale transform such as a dual-tree complex wavelet transform. Inter-level and same level products are calculated, and the existence of a feature within the image is identified at a location of locally high and coherent inter-level product magnitude. The feature is then extended from that location in a direction determined by the local same level product phase, to generate a line segment. |
