Laser engraved liquid metering roller

The roller, having a metal carbide or ceramic outer layer, has its liquid retaining cells engraved by laser utilising wavelength in the visible green spectrum so that the shorter wavelength provides greater beam power absorption and improved resolution. The laser can be computer controlled and produces cells in helices. Different size cells can be provided by varying laser power.
