The system for the broadside impact sensing by an accident sensor system (PPS1, PPS2) is configured in such a way that from a signal of the impact sensing system a broadside impact is recognized if additionally the specific transverse speed of the vehicle registers the broadside impact. The system determines the transverse speed by means of a travel dynamic regulator (ESP). The accident sensor system has an air pressure sensor. The specific transverse speed registers a broadside impact only if the specific transverse speed lies above at least one threshold value for a predetermined time. |
