A method for producing ferromanganese from low quality manganese ores involves breaking, screening, scattering, wetting and pelletizing, and also melting manganese ores in the furnace. A part of ground manganese ore along with other components of the charge having size of 3-35 mm is supplied directly to the shaft furnace for melting, and other part of manganese ore having size less than 3 mm along with other components of charge is burnt after pelletizing, and burnt granules are supplied to the shaft furnace, and coal and coke dust is injected to the furnace burning zone.
