A method for the preparation of foam polystyrene concrete involves operations of mixing concrete, swollen granules of foam polystyrene and sand with water till obtaining a mixture and incorporation of surface-active additive into the mixture with subsequent mixing until marketable products of foam polystyrene concrete are obtained. Preliminarily the volume of air filling the mixture is given per unit of volume thereof, as complex surface-active additive concentrated solution of foam former is used, which is incorporated into mixture in the form of foam, generating it simultaneously with pressing-in the compressed air into the mixture, until prescribed volume of air filling the mixture is achieved, at that the ratio of components in the mixture in % by weight is modified depending on value of the prescribed volume of air filling the mixture .
