A drive of the round-knitting machine has electric motor, V-belt transmission, its driving pulley is rigidly installed on the shaft of the electric motor, toothed gearing with drive pinion installed coaxially with respect to the driven pulley of the V-belt transmission, and vertical drive shaft on which the gear wheel of the toothed gearing is installed, and at its ends cylindrical pinions are rigidly fixed for kinematic connection to the mechanisms of the round-knitting machine. Additionally the drive is equipped with brake and electromagnetic clutch installed on the shaft of the electric motor.
