The invention relates to ferrous metallurgy, in particular to the composition of cake for metallurgical production. A cake for metallurgical production contains oxidized iron-containing material, binding material, plasticizer and fluxing additive in the form of dust-like quicklime at the following ratio of components, % by weight: 85.0-88.0 oxidized iron-containing material, 1.5-3.0 binding material, 5.0-6.0 plasticizer and 5.5-6.0 fluxing additive. The invention provides use thereof as substitute of traditional prepared components of blast furnace production charge and material for washing effect in the blast furnace hearth, and also provides economy of metallurgical coke due to use of metallurgical cycle waste.
